That film is one of the main arguments why Lovecraft stories should only be made into flms by people who have read his work  cussing:
The universe is run by the complex interweaving of three elements. Energy, matter, and enlightened self-interest.

The same has been said about many a film adaptation of a book.

I've never forgiven David Lynch for the abomination that was Dune.  cussing: cussing:

Its low budget but the version of Dune that the Sci-Fi channel commissioned is pretty good and far more faithful to the novel.

Something I've always wanted to know about the David Lynch version, where in the hell did wierding modules come from?  rubschin:

Are we talking about the same Howard Phillips Lovecraft here Nick. Actually it would make sense, I can see a lot of his stories being influenced by being around Captain Calamity.  point:

It was something that happened in a job interview in Mexico years ago.

The interviewer was keen on Lovecraft, but pronounced it to rhyme with Hovercraft.

I was baffled. There is no word in Spanish for hovercraft, so I spent part of the interview cruising around his office semi-stooped making a sort of raspberry noise in an imitation of an SRN-5. He was also baffled

I got the job anyway  eeek:

It was never mentioned again!

Fair enough Nick, no sense in hovering on past calamities, after all there are so many of them.  whistle:
