What the hell is a gum boil!?!?  eeek:

A small boil or abscess on the gum

That wouldn't just pop up in a couple of hours though surely?  eeek:

Dentist = Short Skirt, high heels, big chest, blonde hair etc. ~ not me now is it. noooo:

My dentist used to be a very attractive, tall, muscular, dark hair, dark eyed Argentinian.  cloud9:

It is probably a real blister as a reaction to the caustic alkaline solution from the Bicarbonate.

No, you should not use it directly silly girl. ::)

Use "Bonjela" or similar to take the sting away and drink cold non-fizzy drinks.

Alternatively, you have Foot and Mouth.  shocked003

Thank-you for the sensible help. How does one use the stuff then?

Use what stuff ~ Bicarb or Bonjela?

Bicarb is for baking and cleaning

Bonjela is for soothing tooth ache, mouth ulcers etc.

The bicarb as toothpaste!

In your case I wouldn't. Use a bicarb toothpaste instead.

Do they have a minty flavouring to them?

I am avoiding menthol/minty/pepperminty stuff for the next couple of days. Hence the attempt at bicarb. Which I now regret. sad24:

Neat bicarb is OK for some but it is a bit harsh. Pop into boots  ~ there is quite a range.

I had a GF once who used salt on a finger tip to clean her teeth as well as toothbrush and tooth paste. She reckoned it kept her teeth white ~ and she had very white teeth but I used to worry that she would one day regret the abrasiveness of salt.

Mind you, our dentist is babetastic... I may have to go with her....  eyes:

I was given some treatment by a dental hygienist once. Blonde hair, green eyes, soft Irish brogue and a spectacular future in front of her.  I could have sat in the chair for hours  eyes:
High heels... short skirt...  eyes:

You'll have to let LL know about my man dentist.  Tall, gorgeous blue eyes, dark and broody.  Problem is you can't look at your best when lying back with your mouth wide open dribbling while he prods your teeth! noooo:

I also have a lady doctor who is an attractive young tall Scandinavian type! eyes:  Both in Limassol.

Much better today thank-you. It does seem to have deflated and doesn't hurt as much.  cloud9:

I used ordinary toothpaste this morning.   redface:
