BUT the really good news is that:

Britain's eventing team are poised to strike for Olympic medals after Mary King and Call Again Cavalier, the last to go for them, produced a dressage test that left the team lying a close fourth and themselves individually ninth going in to the cross-country.

Until, that is, you read on to discover that there are still two rounds of show-jumping and the cross country to go. In other words out of the three day eventing they have only had day one. Talk about putting the best gloss on a dismal showing so far.
