I'm not overkeen on them myself. Best to be in the 'Chair' so you can speed them along.

I do every thing I can to avoid meetings, my time can be spent better elsewhere for most of the time I'm in there.

I have a meeting of sorts later this afternoon, my first job interview in 19 years.  scared2: And on Friday I have a second job interview to attend  scared2: scared2:

I am no longer invited to meetings in my place - apparently I am "confrontational" and "dismissive of others".  And that's before lunch...

Still, not long to go now... cloud9:

I used to get out of going to meetings by pretending that I had another meeting to go to somewhere else

Not a meeting as such.

I have an job interview on Friday - job is near Epsom horse track, interview is in Reading. Just been sent details of the interview -this is after a 30 minute tel call yesterday, woth the helpdesk mgr.

Your interview will be in four parts as follows:

·         20-30 minutes with F for HR Screening

·         20-30 minutes with R, the Helpdesk Manager and client relationship manager for Toyota

·         15-20 minutes with one of the  technical consultants to gauge your technical experience and skills

·         30 minutes for an aptitude test

Oh and if there is a Toyota person around, they will talk to me as well.

I haven't been near an aptitude test since 1972!

I shall be supping, very soon.

I think the test is to find Reading, even if it is by train.

Another reason to be cheerful - our glorious leader has a cunning plan!

http://news.sky.com/skynews/Home/Business/Ministers-Consider-Plans-To-Temporarily-Scrap-Stamp-Duty-To-Boost-Housing-Market/Article/200808115070980?lpos=Business_0&lid=ARTICLE_15070980_Ministers%2BConsider%2BPlans%2BTo%2BTemporarily%2BScrap%2BStamp%2BDuty%2BTo%2BBoost%2BHousing%2BMarket%2B

So from where will he get the cash not raised by stamp duty?

We are indeed doomed. noooo:

According to the Radio News as I was driving along about half an hour ago the plan is not to scrap the stamp duty but rather to "defer" it so that you don't have to pay it immediately on completion of purchase but at some date in the future (yet to be decided). Estate Agents, Mortgage Brokers and Lawyers have all voiced strong "concerns".

Utter bollox of course. Just another way of pretendingto help whilst sending people even deeper into debt. How long before some bright spark at a mortgage company comes up with a plan to include the stamp duty in your 25 year loan.
I used to have a handle on life but it broke.
