However much it is it will still be counted against any benefits you try to claim. Find another job and forget the pittance.

I am about to start CV writing. I am looking into what is required on one these days.

I am advised in an employment article in the local rag that they should nowadays be written exclusively in the third person.  eeek:

I would soon be rid of it if we were to get the whole 7k, then again i would hope that another job would be in pipeline, an not having to claim anything, as we wouldent get sod all anyway... noooo:

The first 30 grand is tax free, the rest is likely to be taxed at 40%. You can still claim NI/jobseekers though as it is contribution based for the first bit.

Once that has expired, it is means tested.

Mrs TMR (to be) signed on today - we have paid in, thus we shall take out.

Which is sad.

Technically Job Seekers Allowance is not a benefit as it is not means tested. Income Support, Council Tax Benefit etc are and with them redundancy money is taken into account as are any savings, premium bonds, wife's income etc.

We recently did a round of recruitment. I love looking at CV's - some people are so bloody stupid.

There were 2 that particularly stood out for me..... one bloke wrote 6 pages of his life story in the additional information section and then signed off  with "much love xxx". What a prat.

The other declared he had convictions - so we had to contact him to ask for clariification of what these were. 1st conviction was for possession of an illegal substance. 2nd conviction 2 years later was for possession of a dangerous weapon (he said he was a trainee chef and was just on his way to his mates to cook dinner and so had bought his own knives  happy001. 3rd conviction was for intention to supply.

Then he proceeded to want feedback about why he was not shortlisted  Banghead

Whenever I get a stack of CVs I immediately throw half of them away.

This weeds out unlucky people.
