No dear, no caff noooo:

Just nice pies.

Do take a camera!!

oh yes we will and the laptop to post all the pics on here too!  whistle:

You culd come to the Wirral and visit here too!  ;)

We have already done the invitation bits. They are on the train, having no car, and thus are restricted as to the places they can visit. They are coming up to visit family for the first time in two yeras. Nice though they might find both you and I they just cannot visit on this visit. Gorrit?

::) . .find you and me. .   whistle:

At my school one was caned for saying You and me. OK .... Somethings one never forgets. No doubt your English Teachers had other ideas. Yes I know it is old fashioned usage but it was what I was raised to use and use it I shall.

I am sure Prof. Nick will confirm that it depends on the subject-object usage.

"It doesn't matter to you and me" is correct, as is: "You and I know there are no trains in the bakery"

Test it by omitting the "You and. ." then see if it sounds right.

"It doesn't matter to I" is obviously not correct, as is: "Me know there are no trains in the bakery" (unless you are called Ebrell)

My English Masters had very firm ideas on the subject. .

I shall now stop preaching.  redface:

Yes ~ I read all that in Fowler whilst you were posting.  ::)

I have an in-house expert here so have no need to resort to asking someone who sees trains running through cake shops and cannot find his caps lock.

That about sums it up. Though I appreciate the invites and will try to get round and let Mrs TG talk your ears off next time.

As Mrs TG goes with her son to the airport on Sunday I may be able to find the cake shop. There again I may get rat-arsed and not be able to find anything.  noooo:

I think my cat wants to kill me...

Of course the cake shop won't be open on a Sunday ~ how many bakers (outside of Golders Green) do you know who open on Sundays?  He is sending you on a wild squirrel chase.

I suspect the pies, cakes trains and squirrels only exist in one place...  whistle:
