Scooter Report: Good bit of kit, able to carry my weight, 8mph top speed, 21 mile range. 5.5inch ground clearance so able to cover most terrain that I am likely to encounter. Easy to drive, bit of a fag to break into component parts to fit into the boot of your car and once in there leaves no space for anything other than a small bag. The basket, TG will be pleased to know, is an option and removable. Price £5,750.00. Charge time on batteries from zero to full is about 5 hours. Batteries are shielded so no problems with any magnetic interference with my ICD.
Salesman Report: Frankly in my previous occupation I would not have even interviewed him. Stunk of cheap aftershave, wet handshake and too "matey" by far. Tried all the old sales tricks even to "borrowing" my phone to speak to his "manager" to see if he could get permission to offer me a "deal" at which point the manager asked to speak to me and told me (obviously reading his script) that "Barry" had made such a strong plea on my behalf he was prepared to drop, on this occasion from £5,750 to £3,500 and if I handed the phone back to "Barry" he would confirm his permission that this discount could be applied. I gave up using that old gag forty years ago when I left the employ of Bristol Street Motors and stopped selling cars for a living. I honestly didn't think anyone would still be trying to pull that stunt.
Anyway I did not buy, even at this fantastic price, leaving "Barry" professing his dismay at my willingness to pass up such an offer. I know I can buy a recon model, 12 months old, locally c/w a warranty for under £1,000.
Still it passed a happy couple of hours away.
