Currently in my car a double CD of Humph, one Willy Nelson, one C&W compilation (downloads) and Rod Stewart "Great American Song Book" (set of four CDS)
I used to have a handle on life but it broke.

I usually plug the mp3 player in on random and if something really catches my ear I'll select an album from that artist/group. My current favourite is Colbie Caillat, not my normal choice of music, but could listen to her voice all day long

So you limit your range to a 25 minute radius of home then ~ so you can get back by the time the CD ends like  whistle:
