I've won a f*cking IPOD thingy * NOT £7.10 for the prescribed aspirin . I spent 15 p of my own cash on thoseTotally agree about the aspirin ~ watch out though because the "normal" aspirin are usually stronger than those prescribed for heart (Anti Clotting) purposes. 75mg per day is enough but it is for LIFE (not just for Christmas). Either use "Enteric Coated" Aspirin or Soluble as the ordinary "headache cure" variety can and do cause stomach bleeding when taken daily. The other one is prolly Lipitor which is a fairly aggressive Statin the purpose of which to reduce cholesterol. Statins do have other beneficial effects and are proven to prevent blood clots which are the cause of Heart Attacks and Strokes. The downside of Statins is that some people find them depressive to take and also there are reports of muscular fatigue which has been linked to the taking of Statins (Particularly Atorvastatin which is what you have got ~ Lipitor being a brand name) I took them for some time and had to come off them for the above reasons. I now take a low dose statin backed up by another cholesterol lowering drug.Seems to me that your GP has decided that prevention is the order of the day ......... Now about those ciggies????
