I prefer the tab function in it to ie or mozilla.
The what function?

I also like the little pictures of the websites I visit most often.

The only thing I've found is that you can't reply/forward emails within hotmail with it. Not a problem with me as I use gmail but it maybe for others.
Do what now?

That is literally the only problem I've run into. I don't use hotmail so for me it isn't a problem. I suppose if you did rely on hotmail then yes it would be shite. I don't, ergo, I don't.
I'll download the latest version then.... but if it is shite it will be all your fault!  Banghead

I don't know why you thought it was shite so I can't comment!

The tab function. Rather than opening multiple windows, you open tabs within the same window. It is just a less clutetered way of working

Do you use hotmail? If not, don't worry about it, just download chrome.

Thank you for trying my dear, but I am none the wiser as the only 'Tabs' I use are the various coloured ones with breakfast and lunch.  redface:

For the benefit of us laymen, what does it do differently to or better than Microsoft IE, that is of any real use to the common man?

It starts faster and loads pages a lot faster. This is a bonus in my opinion. But that may be just me.

Because every five minutes, or so it seems, someone else comes along with a new super improved version of something. Mostly they just fvck up your PC and eventually end up costing you  money to have them removed and the original working version of Linux or IE or Mozilla restored.
Add to that the super geekiness of having to "get the latest" or you are sooooooooooo uncool and people start to build up a resistance.
All I ask is that my PC allows me access to the internet (Research and Email), word processing abilities and photograph/document storage. I don't want or need anything else. I don't play games, download movies or music.
Everyone who has ever sat at my PCs over the years has said "You ought to try XXX" and frankly everytime I have it has gubbed my machine.
If I want faster downloads then I would buy a more expensive machine ~ but would still be at the mercy, as are we all, of BT and the speed of their exchanges and lines.
The more bells and whistles anything has the more it is likely to go wrong and the more it will cost to fix.
I used to have a handle on life but it broke.

Which is fair enough, and normally I would agree with you. This is the first time I've downloaded something "non-standard".

But it was more BM with his tried it and it's shite that I was interested in.
