But why aren't they using it? I don't understand! Won't someone please just tell me!
Because every five minutes, or so it seems, someone else comes along with a new super improved version of something. Mostly they just fvck up your PC and eventually end up costing you money to have them removed and the original working version of Linux or IE or Mozilla restored.
Add to that the super geekiness of having to "get the latest" or you are sooooooooooo uncool and people start to build up a resistance.
All I ask is that my PC allows me access to the internet (Research and Email), word processing abilities and photograph/document storage. I don't want or need anything else. I don't play games, download movies or music.
Everyone who has ever sat at my PCs over the years has said "You ought to try XXX" and frankly everytime I have it has gubbed my machine.
If I want faster downloads then I would buy a more expensive machine ~ but would still be at the mercy, as are we all, of BT and the speed of their exchanges and lines.
The more bells and whistles anything has the more it is likely to go wrong and the more it will cost to fix.
