Inconsiderate suicides.
« on: September 11, 2008, 03:11:44 PM »
Colleague of mine was twenty minutes late getting home last night. He takes the train but it seems someone 'went under' and he had to get the bus instead.

It seems 'went unders' happen more than we think.

How selfish is that?

Not to mention the poor bastards that have to scrape up the chunks, tell the family etc.

And the family of course who are left grieving / frantically searching for the will (* delete as appropriate).

They should be more considerate. Train platforms are depressing enough as it is.

Selfish bastards.  cussing:

bored

I think my cat wants to kill me...

I'm sure I've started this one before!

I've always thought that it would be prefereable for them to top themselves round about 10:00am. Enough after the morning commute and early enough to not intefere with getting home.

It used to happen to me all the time. There is a bridge just before Mitcham Junction that is notorious for it.

If you are facing the tram lines it is to the right.

I did some work for London Underground, part of which was being shown under a train…

The Engineers pointed out the bits of human stuck underneath and reckoned that every single train had some…  noooo:

I've said it before but I'll say it again. It has to take some courage to head butt a 125.
There must be a point when, as the train hurtles toward you, when you think "This is going to hurt".

I was on a 125 once going North and in conversation with the gent opposite me. He was a trade butcher as it turned out and quite a tough nut in appearance. He was facing the horses and suddenly, mid-conversation, shouted "Oh Shit!!" as a body flew by the window eeek:

Train screeched to a halt a mile or two up the track, mobile phones phoning emergency services etc. Took about an hour before we were under way... much tea and sympathy were exchanged ~ felt like I'd made a friend. cry:

A friend at another school comitted suicide by putting two sharpened pencils up his nostrils and then smashing his head on the desk. During an exam.

I'd prefer the InterCity route, personally.

That's horrible!

And I thought for a minute you were going to say "he also put his underpants on his head and said Wibble"

I suspect I may have misread the tone of this thread rubschin:

Surely none of you think that these people are of sound mind when they commit or attemp to commit suicide.

Know where you are coming from JOM. Done a little of it myself and I am aware that the Transport Police work very hard to find all the bits before the local wildlife "clean" up.
