I recently had a form that I had submitted returned because I had not filled in the box marked "Title".
I rang to explain to Gupta that I do not have a title and therefore had left that box blank.
"But you must have a title"
"No, I am not a peer of the realm, I have not been knighted and I am not a Doctor"
"Then you must be a Mr"
"No ~ Mr is an honourary title bestowed upon one as a mark of respect. I would not dream of calling myself Mr ~ That is for others to do."
