Another problemo with Mobile Broadband is that I have yet to find one that will work with Linux  Banghead

Speed-wise, it's only a little bit slower than the home broadband. I have bought a USB hub, as my old (although turbo charged, cheers Tel) only has 2 USB ports.

But so far, so good.
