At what cost and from which supplier might I ask ~ I have been looking at this idea as finding a WiFi hotspot often means McDonalds out here in the sticks.

Orange love me, so "only" £10 per month. I can live with that - I used to spend more that that every lunchtime when I was working.

rubschin: Unfortunately Orange is shite in this area .... my mobile won't work in the house and hardly works in the garden. Yet both Wife and daughter are with other companies and don't get these problems.

I have been thinking of doing the mobile braodband on a Pay As You Go basis as my useage will be small most of the time.

 rubschin:

Are you able to do it as a one off/pay as you go every month or so or is it contract?

The Orange deal is a contract deal. PAYG is an up front payment for the USB thingy and then same as a phone you pay for what you use. Prices are coming down I notice as they are becoming more popular. Don't jump in too soon would be my motto. Since I started looking some months ago PAYG has dropped by about 25% on some companies.

I'm only thinking for when I have the new laptop and when we go to Wales. It would be nice to have broadband.

You should all be grateful! If I had mobile broadband and a laptop I could communicate with you all without ever taking a break!

Why would a sensible girl like you want to do a thing like that?

If it is a choice between the MILFH's company and yours it is no contest!

It seems T Mobile do a £2 per day connection once you have purchased the usb stick for £50. Seem reasonable.
