I'd put odds on Nick getting a call to come and collect the Boy within 24 hours. (pessimist that I am)

I was thinking the same, Uncle, but from experience I know that the expected phone call probably won't happen.

I may just unplug the phone  eveilgrin:

We have the trauma of packing to get through yet. What sort of list includes "one teddy bear"?  noooo:

Mine, or to be more exact, the children's section of it.

They were allowed one soft toy each. Choosing one was a big decision for a small child.  confused:

The sort that any 10 year old takes when he goes away from home. At the Cub Annual Camp the recommended list provided calls for every boy to take one familiar "bedtime toy" to help counter the homesickness. Every boy turns up with something, some with Teddy Bears, some with their old "Baby Blanket" etc. Minor took his Blue Elephant that he has had since he was in a cot. Last year the only one whose parents had to be summoned to take him home because he cried and cried throughout the first night ~ was the one who didn't take anything.

If the list has come from the organisers of the trip ~ trust them.
If the list has come from the boy that should tell you a lot.

Well now you know why they suggest it.

The Boy has probably chosen carefully. He wants something that smells of home, reminds him of home but doesn't label him as a sissy. The Elephant was selected for those reasons. Much thought went into it.
