Can't be arsed reading through 14 pages of dross and inane ramblings, so in a nutshell, are Virgin any good, cus I've just received a mail shot inviting me to 2 megathings of broadband and telephone provision line rental thing for a mere 11 snotters a month, which on the face of it looks like a good deal....unless you lot know otherwise.

AOhelL's main computer zappy thingywotsit has crashed 3 times over the last week, (so I only found out last night after I'd rung their 'helpdesk')  leaving me to panic and press everything that exists in this heap of pure and unadulterated piece of electrical turdery.
I've now got to reset everthing back to how it was because of THEM.  cussing:

Leaving aside the phone line and speaking in all seriousness, Virgin broadband is fast, cheap and reliable. I have dealt with them since before they were even called NTL (Diamond cable if memory serves) and I would recommend them.

Just dont use their email system. (thats not sarcasm either)

Regarding the phone service at present I wouldnt swap it. Mrs TG's lad is in France at university and she can call him for 3p a minute plus a 7p connection charge and £1.50 a month. A bargain as she can gab for England.

It's true that when they get it wrong they REALLY get it wrong but if you can get past the installation without killing someone you should be fine.

As a (former) IT professional I advise anyone to avoid Skype like the plague.

I've found skype to be patchy at best. We use voice and video calling over msn messanger or whatever the hell it is calling itself these days.

This may of course be why the word former appears  whistle:

We have used it a lot to talk to BIL and family in New Zealand over the last couple of years or so.

On balance, it is pretty good IMHO.

They do keep doing 'upgrades' which often screw up though.

Just say No to them. whistle:

I have skype on my mobile for when I make calls to friends and family overseas. Havent had any problems with it yet.

Email was working first thing this morning but now I come back in and email is down. Also only 4 channels on TV.

Try to look at service status page and that's dead as well!
