UM WILL be impressed!

http://dvice.com/archives/2012/12/chinese-spacecr.php

Apparently, reading another article on the same asteroid, IF it had hit us, and being about the same size as the one that wiped out the dinasours (alledgedly0, it would have wiped us out. eeek:

It's due back, only closer, in 400 years apparently.
I personally don't think there'll be anyone left on earth to witness it though. noooo:

I preferred GrumpyOldSoldier's explanation

Talking about the moon.
Scientists have shown that the moon is moving away at a tiny yet measurable distance from the earth every year. If you do the maths, you can calculate that 85 million years ago the moon was orbiting the earth at a distance of about 35 feet from the earth's surface. This would explain the death of the dinosaurs. The tallest ones, anyway.

I thought I would share that with you, we are never to old to learn.

Here's the BBC link I was reading earlier.

It seems there are planets everywhere we look.

Much betterer that.

Luv the term 'The Goldilocks Zone', not too hot, not too cold.  cloud9: lol:

Dunno why we're getting too excited, as even a 'mere' 12 light years away is always going to be an unsermountable (sp) distance to travel, especially when you put it into perspective regarding just how long it takes for our sunlight to reach us, and that's only 'round the corner' so to speak. eeek:
