Poppy Day
« on: October 27, 2008, 09:02:53 AM »
The poppys are out early this year, I noticed a couple of sellers as I walked to the office this morning.

I'll always buy one but it's still two weeks away. Next week is soon enough.

Also TV presenters have been sporting them. I'd guess that they're told to wear them. In which case it's wrong.

I agree with you...

While I agree with the principle and support the RBL (I cycled London to Paris three years running to raise money for them) there is something not quite right when everybody wears them in the media (and all politicians of course).

Luckily we managed to buy ours the last time LL was back in the UK and will be going out to a service this weekend...

Haven't you noticed your karma is moving in a positive direction over the past couple of days? ;)

How long did the bike ride take then? Genuinely interested. Love challenging stuff. cloud9:

I rode a 49cc moped from J.O.G to Lands End in 3 days for charity 8 years ago.
Still got an arse like Rawhide even now. sad32:

12 hour shifts @ 30 mph + rest, water, grub, and arse rubbing stops = just over 300 miles a day.
Took 3 full days and a couple of hours on the final day tbh., all on A and B roads only too.
Shap on the A5 was fun....NOT.
