Having read the full transcript I still consider the whole episode overblown and hyped up by the media. Personally if I was in Andrew Sachs' position I would have just deleted the answerphone messages and ignored the little twerps.

The granddaughter is old enough to fight her own battles.

Thank goodness for that. I was worried the poor girl would turn out to be a real slapper.

So why drag him in?

They were ringing him up because he was scheduled to be on the show but didn't turn up. Obviously Brand and Ross had been talking about him and family and Brand told Ross he had slept with the granddaughter. Ross blurted this out when they were leaving a message on the answerphone.

The self righteous stuff is somewhat ridiculous. But then I am less interested in what was said and who said it and more interested in the editorial board that allowed it to pass.

Ross should get a slappiing for his excuse though. He said that they 'forget that they are broadcasting'. Now I'm sorry but if you are being paid £18million to do a job then you concentrate on what you are doing.

Which is stupid yes. However, it was a recorded show! Surely when they listened back to it they realised!?!?!

Thats assuming there was a procedure in place to listen to the shows prior to broadcast.
