So what should I go for next? My car is on the Motabilty scheme and is due for change at the beginning of July. That means I have to start looking at replacements soon so that I have time to try a few, get approval from SWMBO + 3 smaller WMBO's and allow three months for the main squealer to order it so that it is available when the current contract expires.
Last one was a Zafira ~ for the seven seats (there are five of us + occasional visitors to be transported). Made every little use of the tiny 6th and 7 th seats (only used them five times in 3 years) and then the visitor numbers dropped (FiL died etc) so when I changed the Zafira I went for a Picasso five seater. Good in that all children approved as there is no "hump" in the middle of the rear seat or floor thus everyone gets a full sized seat and proper seat belt (instead of the middle one being only a lap strap) The Picasso (and I got the deluxe version 1.6 petrol) has only done 8500 miles in 30 months. I am getting out more these days (it had only done 1800 miles in the first year) and SWMBO has her own ancient Corsa. The Picasso is a horrid car to drive any distance in, has poor all round visibility and I just don't much like it. ALSO (and perhaps most importantly) it does not fit my self image.
So given that I HAVE to replace it, that it must seat 5 (three adult sized and two growing rapidly), that I cannot afford a Merc or BMW, that the deal is it must be a new and not second hand vehicle and the price range cannot exceed £14K what would the experts recommend I have a look at?
