I honestly don't believe it. How on earth can you be stopped and searched never mind arrested just for walking along whilst wearing a mask?

You can be arrested for walking in a group or even on your own within a certain distance of the Houses of Parliament IF the police "believe" you to be making a "protest".
Another one of Tony Bliar's elastic laws that can be stretched to cover any damn thing the police want ..... despite any assurances given by ministers to the House at the time.

This is one of the many Blair laws that Cameron has said he will scrap ~ time will tell but don't hold your breath. Read Orwell's 1984 instead .... it's all in there.

Most of the uk has been sleepwalking into the Orwellian nightmare we are now facing and Brown isnt going to be and different. That tantrum throwing power hungry arse will hammer through anything he thinks will help him solidify his power base. The only reason he hasnt used the parliament act yet is that there isnt much time before the elections is due. If by some travesty Brown stays in office just wait to see how soon after getting reelected he decided to push legislation through using the act.

A large part of the problem is that Labour have created a large uinderclass who are perfectly happy to keep voting them back in if it means they can spend their days sat on their arse taking handouts instead of getting a job.

Before anyone complains, especially in light of recent redundancies I am not saying that everyone currently out of work is like that, but there is a large proportion who are long term unemployed and have no intention of getting a job.

See I can see that. I understand that and that is one of the reasons why I have a problem. I know about the CCTV, I know about the clandestine survelliance and stupidly I thought it really was for the greater good. It never occured to me that it would all be used against "normal" people. I'm an idiot, I've had all the information and it never really registered.

I am guilty of the "when they came for me there was no one" line of thinking I suppose.

Sorry to belittle your concerns, but this is nothing new, the only difference is that the world can see it all courtesy of the Web, lightly censored TV and mobile phones with cameras.

In the 50's the same protest would have resulted in a quiet arrest for 'drunk and disorderly' followed by a short tumble down the steps to the cells and 4 lines in the Times.

It may actually help 'true liberty' if the folly is visible to the masses.

It was newsreel coverage influencing public opinion that finished the Yanks in Vietnam and can you imagine how long WW1 would have lasted if they had the Somme on Youtube the next day?
