All this talk reminds me of a time when I was interrogated at the American Embassy in Grosvenor Square. It was about the time of Watergate and I was applying for a visa to go to the US for the summer. Normal form filling until they decided to "ask" me to an interview
Interminable questions... much beady eyed staring from officials and uniformed guards... more questions...
I really thought it was going to be just a formality, but no. After about half an hour I felt like saying forget it but eventually the visa was granted.
