ALL RISE ~ Judge Uncle Mort here  ;)

After much deliberation  rubschin:

Charlie Harmon Brown does NOT count.

Rule 1 states A celebrity is a widely-recognized or famous person who commands a high degree of public and media attention before they die.

He may have been famous once but isn't now. Rule 1 implies a current celebrity/fame status.

Rule 4 states The dear departed must get an obituary in one of the recognised National British Daily Papers, on the BBC Web Site or Sky News web site

The L.A. Times does not fit the criteria.

Hats off to you for such a decisive... um decision Uncle...  happy088

OK Have my card, crossed off all my numbers now what?

Aaliyah, 22, 1/16/79-8/25/01
Aaliyah, born in Bed-Stuy and raised in Detroit, was the walking definition of street cool in the late 1990s.  She only cut three albums - "Age Ain't Nothin' But a Number," "One In a Million" and "Aaliyah," released just weeks before her death.  No turkeys in that coop.  They all sold millions, and she had No.  1 hits in both R&B ("Back and Forth," If Your Girl Only Knew," "Are You That Somebody") and pop ("Try Again").
Only a teenager, she knew music, collaborating with Timbaland and others to create a distinctive hybrid R&B sound.  She was also stunning, with her long hair covering half her face, and she had already shot a couple of movies with more to come.
Her private life wasn't quite that smooth, though she kept most of it, well, private.  What did come out was that she married R.  Kelly while she was still underage and the marriage was annulled in 1995.
In August 2001 she flew to the Bahamas to film a video, "Rock the Boat. " When her crew piled into the plane to return home, they insisted on taking all their heavy equipment, so the plane was hundreds of pounds over the weight it could carry.  The pilot had also obtained his license fraudulently and was alcohol and cocaine in his system.  Two hundred feet from the runway, the plane crashed into a marsh.  There were no survivors.

Jean Harlow, 26, 3/3/11-6/7/37
Jean Harlow was the blonde bombshell of her era.  She would have been the blonde bombshell of almost any era.  She made dozens of films in that contract era, with titles like "Red-Headed Woman," "Platinum Blonde" and "Wife Vs.  Secretary. "
The funny thing was, she was a good actress, with splendid comic timing.
She had a wreck of a personal life, sadly, though that isn't what killed her.
She fell ill while filming "Saratoga" with Clark Gable.  Finally she was hospitalized and it turned out she had uremic poisoning, a byproduct of kidney failure that itself probably stemmed from a bout of scarlet fever as a teenager.
She died eight days later and was buried in a negligee she wore in "Saratoga. " It was reported that a white gardenia from William Powell was placed in her hand in the casket.

For new players, a summary of the rules from earlier in the thread: -

1) A celebrity is a widely-recognized or famous person who commands a high degree of public and media attention before they die.
2) Barman issues new All New All New Celebrity Death Bingo Cards to members that request them here.
3) Deaths start from November 10th 2008 - i.e. no retrospective deaths allowed. The age at death determines the number crossed off the score card.
4) The dear departed must get an obituary in one of the recognised National British Daily Papers, on the BBC Web Site or Sky News web site
5) Players will post details of the dead celebrity on this thread so players can appeal the validity of the claim
6) The Barman's decision on any appeal is final
7) The prize for the winner is a bottle of Ardbeg donated by an exasperated Barman...

OK?

The scores so far on the (mortuary) doors…

Mitch Mitchell - 61

Jack Scott - 85

Would that be MORON as defined by Dawn French in The Vicar of Dibbley?

It may take years  noooo:

Not enough people are dying who conform to the rules.

Maybe we could have a "People under 25 who wrap a vauxhall Nova round a lampost while wearing a baseball cap sideways Death Bingo thread"

That would be over in minutes, what with Christmas coming and all.
