No matter how much of it I watch I shall never understand yacht racing  noooo:

Don't get me wrong ~ it is pleasant to watch, the Dorset coast, tho' looking cold, is nice to see and the daring do of some of those sailors is beyond description but the scoring is impossible.

Eight badminton players disqualified   rubschin:

Imagine if you were a great fan of that sport and you took your kids along to see some world class play; try explaining what happened to them...
I'd fine the 8 for the total ticket price of that evening's event and give the spectators their money back. Now that would be an Olympian gesture  eveilgrin:

Excellent decision ...... now I suppose we'll have to go through a lengthy appeals process and listen to "It's just because we're not white" complaints.

Watched some of the "Eventing" yesterday ~ Got me thinking ~ What an excellent venue that is with superb views over the City from the Cross Country course. Come to that what iconic venues we have supplied for many of the sports. Rowing on the Thames, Beach Volley Ball on Horseguards' Parade, Yachting at Weymouth, Footy at some of the world's best known arenas, Tennis at Wimbledon, Archery at Lords.
No country could possible match them. We have much to be proud of when all's said and done.

BTW ~ Friend of mine who spends most of his nights working on-line to the States tells me that a great many over there are now convinced that James Bond MUST be real 'cos he was with the Queen. Some even think HM ackchooly did the helicopter jump with him!  ::)

One comment he passed on was "Why did the Brits ALLOW the Queen to do that? .... The Secret Service would never have let Obama do such a thing"

Agreed, the right decision ... And guess what?  The appeal has failed
