What a day for GB. I saw a couple of medals being won in the rowing this morning, listened to another being won while driving to the rugby, listened to a 20 minute interview with Bradley Wiggins on the way back, then watched Jessica Ennis win the heptathlon, Greg Rutherford win the long jump, and Mo Farah win the 10,000m

And I see we also won a gold in the velodrome too. Nice to see how they all paid tribute to all those that helped them over the years too. All great stuff

The Daily Fail

Which reminds me...

A fly will sup with anybody - and so will a Yorkshireman

A flea will put the bite on anybody - and so will a Yorkshireman

A magpie will chatter with anybody - and so will a Yorkshireman

And a side of bacon is never any good until it's been hanged....

The Chinese girl swimming in finals today is expected to smash the world record by 10 seconds.

Che Ting Twat said she is very optimistic

Just been watching the ladies beach volleyball and there as already been a bad wrist injury. I should be ok by the morning though

I liked the commentary, unbiased of course, of one of the men's long track races last night ... So and so of the GB team is sitting comfortably at the back, taking a good position ...

A couple of minutes later it was ... Well, he's leaving it late to make his move

And finally ... And so and so comes in 8th, what a great race!

That was a magic moment for me last night.   I remember Ian Wright doing similar when England scored or won in a match once, shows just how passionate these people can be

T'other thing I don't understand is that some of these sports spend an absolute fortune on fine tuning their equipment , sportswear etc so that it is the fastest , most ergomnomic and will shave milliseconds off the time . Yet the competitors wear jewelry dangling from their neck, talons the size of ice scrapers , sunglasses etc  rubschin:

Oh, and it was Coleman commentating on the '76 Olympics saying that "Juantarena (Cuban gold medallist) is opening his legs and showing his class... "
