Of course without a qualified Electrician's signature on the certificate saying that he has inspected the installation any warranty would be invalid as would your insurance if it goes up in smoke. Qualified Sparks does not HAVE to fit it but he does need to sign the job off and he'll charge the same for that as to fit the bloody thing
Get a man in and take no notice of (i) Expats to whom the rules don't apply and (ii) Farmers who will lash anything up with baler twine and call it a "Job well done".

I still would DIY.

Well, the only potential problem is that Greek Cypriot cleaning woman is here tomorrow at the same time and Jimbo asked if she was nice, like  eyes:. I said she was in her late 50's and about as wide as she was high at which he announced that he liked 'em big...

I'll let you know tomorrow after he's taken out the cooker, unfixed the existing unit, made good the work surface, prepared the new unit, slid it into place, run the new wiring into place, made the connections presumably, tested the new unit, refitted the oven beneath the work surface, cleaned up, written a compliance statement that covers me if I need to complete HIPS, and taken away and disposed of the old unit.  whistle:

But ££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££s aren't worth much anyway. They'll be giving them away with breakfast cereals soon.

Job done, unit tested, all clean and lovely, old unit disposed of, genuine charm and amusing banter.
Took him just over an hour, first getting the oven away and clear, then finding the fixings of the old one, but because HE'D DONE IT BEFORE NUMEROUS TIMES, he knew where to look and had the right kit. Out with the old hob, prep'd the work surface and fitted the new, TESTED WITH LECCY THING THAT I DON'T HAVE, and cleaned up.

A handshake and forty notes.   happy088
