Organisers had cancelled the first and fourth stages in the Hafren forest in Powys because of ice on the roads.
I appreciate that people were injured, but this was between stages. Who's to say that it wasn't the fault of the Landrover driver? And the marshall being hit by the stone could happen in any conditions. The stages that were cancelled would have just had rally cars on them, no other traffic. Isn't a "slippery" road all part of it for these guys?
Crazy FIA regulations don't allow the correct tyres for the conditions they had on Friday.
Tyres for ice and snow have studs in them to bite through the surface. Without them it'd be like driving on the motorway in the rain with slicks on.
Ridiculous situation, but as usual, what the governing body say's is gospel....bit like our own government ey? They know best...apparently/alledgedly/so they say.
