If you look at apple's products BM, I-Pod, I-Mac, I-phone etc. From what I've seen of a lot of the people down here who buy them it tends to translate as I-Malabelgeek

And some of us like them because they've been the only 'puter they've ever known, work reliably, virus free, are the industry standard for all things cr'ative, hate the fact the fact they're so bloody expensive but it's tax deductible, couldn't really give a toss whether they're sky blue pink or not... but, yes, they're  8)

TBH it is a case of horses for courses> Design work is certainly easier and better on a Mac. Word processing and general game playing, look-ups on Google etc do not need the additional expenditure so a PC is more than adequate. I would personally feel a lot more comfortable with Apple if they didn't admit that they charge a premium price, not to cover costs, pay for research and development etc but simply because they view it as a premium product that people are prepared to pay for. If they didn't sell at the asking price they would drop their prices soon enough but so long as Barnum's theory holds true they will not.

As it is the THW is getting a Mac Book thingy courtesy of her BF's father who is in Web Design and has one available second hand and cheap.
