When I bought my first 'real' Hi-Fi system (a Yamaha) we played this in the shop on various turntables and CD players to see where I could hear the difference....

I decided that I couldn't tell the difference between a Linn Sondek and a Systemdek with the same cartridge which saved me ££££££££££s....

I could tell the difference between a Linn Sondek with a SME Series III and a Yamaha CD player tho - the Linn faithfully reproduced every scratch and dust particle on the disc... the CD didn't...

I knew then that vinyl was dead...  noooo:
