rubschin: I have long pondered who could possible have associated the words Happily and Married. Clearly nobody who was ever married. Probably an early "Celibate" God Botherer.

Oh I am! cloud9:

I'm struggling with my resolution, but must keep it going.

No ~ I'm sorry to tell you but we have all been happily (to be) married but the reality never quite matches the dream.
Don't get me wrong ~ I am not unhappily married either ~ just simply married. I can find nothing in the married state that has made me any happier than when I was happily single. I am, I would say, content with matters as they stand. It could be worse (it was first time round) but then it could, I suspect, be better. Marriage does have a nasty habit of changing things that you neither expect nor want to change.
I used to have a handle on life but it broke.

I would not ever get married again, and should neve have done so. Men are better off single!  eveilgrin:

I tend to put my second marriage down to the triumph of hope over experience ~ ever the optimist  ::)

I used to say that about Dementia my dear wife. Now I just introduce her to one and all as my first wife, it keeps her on her toes eyes:

But Mrs TMR (to be) is a total angel  cloud9: What would change?

Her ankles will suddenly become seriously attracted to one another ~ to the extent that they will part only under circumstances of extreme bribery ~ in my experience that is. Bribery by the way takes many forms but all will mean you end up doing something you would not otherwise have done.
The solution to this, I discovered, was to find other ankles that parted more easily ~ this cost me a house, two children, some serious money and a lot of friends but I did get away with it for twenty years.

Like GOS I referred to my first wife by a pet name ~ I used to call her "My Sleeping Beauty". She never questioned this until the divorce and she finally asked me why ~ I told her it was because every time she felt a prick in her hand she would fall asleep. I still have the scar from where the handbag hit me.

Mrs S#2 is introduced as "The Present Mrs S"

I think not with Mrs TMR (to be). To mix threads, I believe that she will shorty burst my pipe  whistle:
