I call Scottish people "Jock" and Welsh people "Taffy" - no problem. The bigger problem is a lot of these so called "Pakis" are actually Indian and they would take offence, so it would never be wise to say.

'Paki' is a derogatory term, it is used to marginalise and demean one group of people and to make the user feel superior. 'Brit' or 'Aussie' hasn't the same connotation although 'Iti' (eye-tie) has.

IMO 'Jock' and 'Taffy' are heading the same same way as 'Paki'

IMO there are more important questions that need to be addressed.
(i) Who released this "Home Video" to the press?  ~ Particularly to the News of the World owned by that well know REPUBLICAN Australian (or Aussie if you prefer) Rupert Murdoch. Who made money out of this deal? (The name Max Clifford always springs to mind but it could be any other "publicist")
(ii) What action is being taken to uncover and charge with theft whoever stole it ~ since it was a personal video diary belonging to the Prince it must have been taken by someone.
(iii) Why did the BBC feel it was more newsworthy that the death by drowning of some 250 Indonesians whose ferry sank in a storm? In fact it was even more newsworthy than the death of yet another British (or Brit if you prefer) Marine in Afghanistan. Both events ranked lower down the order of news items announced on every BBC news broadcast throughout Sunday and yet the Prince Harry story is three years old and the other two events happened on Saturday/Sunday.
(iv) What business is it of the various "talking heads" from the usual "Rent a quote" mob wheeled into studios by the BBC? The slimy Keith Vaz MP was on the Today Programme this morning.
(v) Why have we not heard anything from the cadet who was nicknamed "Our Little Paki" apparently by the whole platoon? Could it be that he is keeping quiet or that what he is saying does not suit the lynch mob currently making a mountain out of a very old molehill?
AND FINALLY
Does it actually matter ~ have you heard what these people call us?

No, the same as they wouldn't call me "a Brit" to mine.
 The few that I know and do business with are fine people, and we call each other names such as 'fat bastard' and 'ugly get', terms of 'endearment' in our own banterish way I suppose, but heard by outsiders who don't know what's going on could be termed as extremely offensive I suppose, far more so than Paki or Brit.
It's all about HOW it's said and in what context, such as the way it was said by HRH.
