Those of you who read these techy geek papers/websites is there any news of them being freed from O2? I thought I vaguely remembered some talk of them releasing their contract to Orange?

I think they're still locked in. A friend of mine has one and he got it unlocked. Mind you he's on his 2nd or 3rd because the screen cracked or something  eeek:

Unsubstantiated reports state that the BlackBerry Storm is a better bit of kit all-round. And you can get those on Orange.

If you buy the iphone you are basically buying the brand. Apart from a well designed GUI the handset itself is at best average. If you want a decent phone wait a couple of months and pick up an N97, Nokia's iphone killer.
