Argos Catolgues
« on: January 17, 2009, 07:14:28 PM »
Why is there such a big deal about the new Argos catolgue coming out  noooo:

Surely there is no bigger waste of paper than these things that every household has 2 of each year.

Leave the catolgues in the shop. If you need to browse do it on the internet before you go there - if you are sensible enough you will also order it via this route as well. People that browse through them in the shops seem to spend hours anyway regardless of how long they have spent rifling through the pages at home  noooo:

At least that way you also won't have the kids searching through it to discover all the things they suddenly realise they have to have but didn't realise existed yesterday  evil:

I was in the town centre this afternoon and heard a woman moaning to her daughter, "that Argos catalogue I got isn't half heavy". A little further on, three youngsters were outside the store presumably employed to thrust these catalogues in peoples hands, one poor old love who must have been in her 70's was pushing a shopping trolley and one of them shoved one in her trolley, just what she needed, an extra few pounds to shove around.

The man at the tip complained when I took ours, along with other papers, to be recycled. Apparently, in Denbighshire at least, they are the "wrong sort of paper"  ::)
I used to have a handle on life but it broke.
