I think Mrs Nick is going to make you fill it with flowers and try to make a few pennies to pay off your fine!

It seems that the flamenco event is somehow charitable and she want s to take a collection for Chilean refugees or summat. The bucket, I checked, is a 4 gallon size. Seems optimistic to me. A tin would be better  noooo:

Does Mrs Nick have anything to do with organising the event? If so I reckon she is running a raffle or something similar that needs a large container for the draw ~ perhapw she has responsiblity for buying flowers for a "guest of honour" and wants a bucket of water to keep them fresh in.

Didn't see the above but I was at least partially right in that she is organising. Now ~ why did she not takle the bucket with her? ~ Given that she is only too aware of your ability to "forget" her instructions.

She went in on the train. Maybe carrying a 4 gallon bucket would have looked odd!

She is taking you to the event and is worried about looking odd on the train?  eeek:

Ring her and say you can't bring the bucket because you'll be going by train as well.

Getting in practise like.  ;)
