evil: Sleeping nicely at 2.00 this morning I was awoken by Mrs Nick. Deliberately  evil:

She has been watching stuff on telly about Torville and Dean.

'I was looking at that photo of your Grandad. He looks remarkably like Jane Torville.'

WHAT?

'You might be related'

HOW?

'Well, you know.  eyes:'

HAVE YOU GONE COMPLETELY MAD?

'But he does look like he could be her dad.'

Is there a number to call where you can just have someone sectioned and taken away?

I understand you need the signatures of two doctors, a social worker and a police officer.

But did he wear ice skates, a short skirt and a permanent smile ~ was he given to whistling Ravel's Bolero ~ did he dance on ice with ex-policemen? A "NO" to any or all of these indicates that Mrs Nick is clearly round the twist, barking mad, certifiable, not safe to be let out alone and a perfect match for you.

Even more disturbingly she has just admitted her error. She actually meant that my Grandad was a dead ringer for Christopher Dean. She got him and Jane Torvill 'muddled'  eeek:

Given her confusion between Torville and Dean ~ do you not think that had Nick agreed with her at 2am she would by now be telling him that he was wrong!

There is no win to this situation - he could have claimed he was still half asleep (a reasonable assumption to my mind)

Path of least resistance - agree at 2am - deny all knowledge later on  noooo:

To a man there is some logic in that
To a woman it makes perfect sense
To Mrs Nick it is the start to a tirade about Nick's failings

Nick's only option was to start planning a new patio
