How can she shout for help if caught in an avalanche etc?
She is probably fine and it literally is just a voice thing. Cold weather, altitude, lack of sleep and too much talking and shrieking will do that. I know I frequently lost my voice on school trips and it most certainly wasn't glandular fever.

Normally talking too much. Of course illness is a possibility however it doesn't have to mean she has been sticking her tongue down oiky boys throats!
