Tis so true MD. We couldn't really afford it, but my mind set is to give my nippers the chance to enjoy something that they will always remember for the rest of their lives, and this was the one opportunity that was never available to me that I really wish I'd had.
Too late when the opportunity has gone, so it had to be done now. She's never been away from us for more than 12 hours.
S'pose you could say that in essence is what's behind my 'other business' tbh. Something I'd like to have done when I was young.
You are just being a good parent Growler....you want the best for your daughter. You want her to have a rounded experience of life.
We are all aware of the parts of our childhood that we were unhappy about and the opportunities that we didn't have and we try and compensate these with our own children , as much as practicably possible.
She will know that it has not been easy on her parents to find the money for the trip. I know we can talk about the selfishness of our kids (mine is by no means any exception) but sometimes on occassions like this you will see her growing up before your very eyes. That is quite scary. Be proud and let her know you will miss her.
