Instant coffee
« on: February 20, 2009, 11:11:50 PM »
Luv me coffee, but haven't got time for all the faffing around with the fancy stuff, so it's straight out of the jar, and lob the water in.
I'm a bit of a creature of habit, and tend to stick to Kenco, bit common I know, but it's quite tasty imo, but wonder if I should be a bit more adventurous, and broaden my horizons a bit.

Just bought a jar of Duwe Egberts. It's ok like, but I'm not overly fussed so far. rubschin:
What you lot like and recommend then ey?

LL drinks Gold Blend... I don't mind it from a fresh jar but I find it goes stale quite quickly...

We also have one of these which makes great coffee in an instant...

Did you see what I did there like...?  whistle:

Whhoooosh!

Errrr, no actually. noooo:

Looks like a fancy bit of kit that BM.
Sadly, it wouldn't fit on our kitchen worktops that we had installed 4 years ago with the rest of the new kitchen to, you know, create MORE space, 'cus they are now full of tatty shite. Banghead

Don't like hot drinks  noooo:

Or coffee flavoured anything  sick2:

The coffee industry  just seems so overly complicated these days - with triple expresso, extra shot, skinny, decaff, ground Columbian, etc etc etc - too many choices  Shrugs:

It's just these 'trendy' coffee shops that have bolloxed it all up.
I try to avoid them like the plauge, as I feel such a tosser when I read the menu. Usually only at airports, so it doesn't happen too often.
Can't beat the 'Greasy Spoon' tranny caf., where you simply ask for "a mug of sludge tar luv"  cloud9:

Using the plunger at weekends was all the rage when I was your age.

Just a distant memory now.  noooo:

These days I tend towards Green tea (full of anti cancer thingies and NO CAFFEINE) but if driven to drink coffee I go for Carte Noir Decaf.

Funny but I drank real expresso for years and wouldn't touch anything else but when I had the trouble with the Defib implant three years ago I went right off coffee ~ maybe it was the shocks or maybe the hospital coffee ~ I dunno.

Now there is a question ~ many a week have I spent over the past ten years laying in various cardiac wards up and down the country (and out of it in Paris) and in none of them has decaf coffee or decaff tea ever been available BUT the advice is always "Avoid drinks with caffeine in them" ~ Why?

Recently purchased a French "Hot Chocolate Maker" and am addicted to the stuff although I don't normally like milk in anything. Have to ration myself to one mug a day.
I used to have a handle on life but it broke.
