Rowing couples don't speak for 10 days a year
« on: March 06, 2009, 09:20:18 AM »
Apaprently the average married couple has two arguments a week, which result in the silent treatment for two hours and 14 minutes each time, totalling 104 arguments over a year, lasting a total of 232 hours and 16 minutes.

The top three reasons for one half stopping speaking to the other were
money
saying the wrong thing
and taking each other for granted

The most common reasons for rows include being unable to find something in the house, getting lost on a car journey and hogging the TV.

So are we all on target for this year or do you have some ground to make up

I think it was The Two Ronnies...

"And in the divorce courts today, Mr and Mrs Smith were divorced after 14 years of marriage. It was claimed that the couple had only spoken twice in the 14 years of marriage. The wife was granted custody of their two children"  drumroll:

Oddly, that was my first thought too. I used to row on Thames. The lady crews all wore lycra  eyes:

A familiar command for the men's crews was 'Eyes in the boat!'

When I last rowed, Lycra hadn't been invented.  sad32:

Rapidly heading toward a winter of discontent then?
I have always thought that the worst thing about drowning was having to call 'help!' You must look such a fool. It's put me against drowning.

The battle of Stalingrad was fought between 1942-43, is BM really that old.  He comes across as a young whippersnapper, maybe decorating makes you age prematurely. 8)
