http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/us_and_americas/article5892498.ece A man has survived a plunge of 180ft (55m) over the Niagara Falls, becoming only the second person in more than 100 years to go over the falls with no protective device and liveI visited Niagara many years ago now and was left feeling quite disappointed ( hence the mysterious title of the thread
) by the reality of it all.
I obviously had my preconceptions from what I had seen in the films etc and perhaps my own idealistic and romantic connotations of it all which had set up an expectation, sadly unrealised.
I thought it would be much more impressive somehow and it had always been a real desire of mine to visit. Whilst not a waste of a day , I did enjoy elements of it, I wouldn't go again and I wouldn't particularly recommend it to others.
Has anyone else felt that way about places they have visited (brothels excluded naturally
)
