"Tables" is something else that is a sore point just at the moment.

The THW has made her decision and is moving onto a College of FE to do her AS and A2s. She has elected to do Maths and Stats as one subject. She still does not know her "times tables" beyond the five times. She is said to be on target for an A* in GCSE Maths (based on the course work element which has been completed & marked). It baffles me  Banghead

She is also doing Physics, Geology and Environmental Studies. She has dropped her life long ambition to study archaeology after spending her two weeks work experience with the County Archaeologist and discovering that far from digging up fields and having a jolly time with Mick Aston, Phil Harding and Co most of the work involves dealing with planning applications etc. There is only one County Archaeologist in Wales and few enough in the whole UK. For most archaeologists the alternative employment prospects are in teaching.

I don't think she has the first idea. Lets get the qualifications first.

My suggestion is that she gets a degree (prolly geology) and then takes off to pastures abroad. So far that is the only suggestion she will admit to taking on board ~ although it was me who found the college, made the appointment, got the application forms, arranged the initial interview and will be paying the costs not covered by grants etc.

BUT what do I know? ~ I'm just a boring old fart, past his time, who interferes in her life.
