Excellent end to a turbulant week
« on: March 13, 2009, 01:26:35 PM »
This has been one of the bitterest weeks of my life, with mayhem and bedlum surrounding me....but I won't bore you with the rancid details.
However, much more importantly, young Growler Jnr went for his first proper job interview this morning at Chester Zoo, and he got the job there and then! Starts 4th April.

To put it mildy, he's over the moon, and so am I!  cloud9:

I know I'm his dad and all that, but he'll be a total asset to them.

Sounds like you have a rough time  eeek: - but good news about your son's job. He must be thrilled and delighted -  given that getting any job is so difficult these days and especially at his age this is an excellent achievement

I haven't seen you since we went to the Donkey Sanctuary last but I still have a badge for you. It is a red heart with flashing lights and the word DONKEYS! on it. You'll love it. lol:

He's standing over me reading all this, and says "thanks everyone"

He's been so depressed these last few weeks, applying for jobs, being rejected or not even getting a reply.
He was feeling very nervous this morning, and slightly pessamistic words were being muttered about his chances as he was about to leave.  noooo:
A quick stern reminder that he had to go in feeling optomistic and cheerful seems to have done the trick, along with all the knowledge he's had drummed into him about the Zoo over the last 2 weeks.
A fine employer that is going places and expanding.

Must admit I was quite shocked when he came in and announced his achievement. I was fully expecting a 2 week wait for the postman.
I'd be a liar if I said I didn't have a tear in my eye for him.

Don't think I've ever seen him so upbeat, and of course with his 17th fast approaching he can now start resuming his dreams of learning to drive again ....which he'd miserably put on hold, saying, "what's the point. I need a job first"
