Meanwhile.......  rubschin:

I have a brilliant plan worthy of the top-drawer, out-of-the-box, blue-sky thinking off a creative wave... etc., etc.,  tunble:

Anyway, as the criminal fraternity grows larger and the law abiding common citizen numbers shrink, all we have to do is kick all of the prisoners out of the jails - and move in!

The prison guards can become our security guards to keep the undesirables out so we can live in peace in our very own en-suite cells complete with cable and internet, community activities and all found accommodation. Even pets are OK!

Just think, no taxes, smoking allowed, no voting, human rights lawyers queuing up to serve us, retirement plans not needed, no inflation, no hassle, no obligations or commitments, free healthcare forever and free at the point of use.

Meanwhile - the criminals get to pay our taxes for us - pretend to vote for us and can go anywhere (as long as they have their ID cards) they can worry about their futures for us pay for pensions that may disappear and look forwards to their spells in nursing homes, they would be allowed to support us in our agony serving their time for them - we can use them as a bottomless pit of cash to finance anything we want anytime we want it and generally suffer the hells of imprisonment just to save them having to build more of them.

We'd deserve medals  angel1

God - I feel like a martyr just thinking about it....    Oh and lest I forget, Mohammad said it is unlawful for the infidel to imprison good Muslims,   Aw, Jeez... So we can't even invite them in...  sad32:

I'm surprised nobody has commented about this so far..

Quote
A former RAF nurse protesting against "unfair" council tax bills for older people says she is prepared for jail.
Beryl Pearce, 85, has refused to pay two months of her annual ?941 bill and owes Test Valley Borough Council ?145.

The Hampshire grandmother, a nursing orderly during Word War II, believes the government has ignored calls to make the tax fairer for the elderly.

Mrs Pearce, who will go before Andover Magistrates Court on Tuesday, said: "It's a case of heat or eat."

The mother-of-two, from Andover, who will be 86 next month, said: "We have had petitions to Parliament, marches. They have taken absolutely no notice.

"With the prisons being full - there's a lot of us doing this - they will have a problem and will have to think about what they are doing.

"I think it really is unfair. We are all paying the same for accommodation, for people on a pension it's a struggle.

"It's a case of heat or eat - where's the justice in that?

"I have worked since I was 14 and I have served my country.

"I have nursed in old people's homes since the war."

'Custodial sentence'

The widow, who has four grandchildren and a great-grandchild on the way, added: "I'm not really worried about prison.

"I have been through worse things in my life.

"I'm not worried about going to jail. I think it would only be for a month.

"Some people are rich and it's a small amount they are having to pay out of their income, and yet a little old lady is paying nearly all her income in tax."

Test Valley Borough Council is seeking a liability order to give it additional powers to pursue the debt.

A council spokeswoman said: "A custodial sentence is a last resort and we would hope to resolve it before it got to that stage."
The universe is run by the complex interweaving of three elements. Energy, matter, and enlightened self-interest.

Assuming that this old woman is claiming all she is entitled to clam she would have no problem with paying her council tax. The point is she sees it as an unfair tax and will not pay it.
These old people who say "I have no fear of going to prison" know full well they will be housed in the hospital wing for three days until some rich sod comes along and pays their debt for them.
What they fail to take into account is that the debt remains whether they go to prison or not.
Yes it is an unfair tax but for a person like this she only has to declare her income, claim what she is entitled to and the f*cking tax will be paid for her. End of problem. evil:

Why on earth should people have to claim benefit to pay bills that are beyond their means?  The bills should be made to fit peoples ability to pay, not their ability to scrounge benefit and a good many of the older generation just will not do it.  The benefit on offer after you have finished groveling for it, is just a way of keeping a great many people out of prison and forcing themselves to make property tax a bit fairer.

After you have been through a world war, prison is not such a big deal. I for one will be heading that same way when they get around to trying to force me into having their toy ID card.

If they have any sense they will be building a good many more prison places - they'll be needing them!

Well the point is, it doesn't matter!  We'll be safely locked up and out of harms way.   They will have to go find some Nigerians to scam or Romanians to rob... something like that...  shrugs:
