Euro chiefs ban titles of 'Miss' and 'Mrs'

The politically correct rules also mean a ban on Continental titles, such as Madame and Mademoiselle, Frau and Fraulein and Senora and Senorita.
Guidance issued in a new 'Gender-Neutral Language' pamphlet instead orders politicians to address female members by their full name only.

Ok the EU are a bunch of over paid, under worked, ineffective twats

However why is this so bloody complicated......you are either male or female. The whole minefield about how you address a woman is so over the top now. Simplify the whole issue. It should not matter whether a woman is married or single,  use the one term   (  like you would do for Mr so and so ) . This unfortunately only leaves the option of Ms -  and take away the  inferences from this that by choosing this option you are some ardent feminist or lesbian  evil:

Likewise when filling in forms why the feck does it matter if you are single, married, divorced, separated etc - what the feck is that information used for if you are applying for something in the singular  cussing:

I was being serious ~ in days of yore Mistress was the title applied to any "womoan" over a certain marriagable age. Mrs is simply a contraction of that.

But although I heard this on the BBC news this morning I detect the hand of the Daily (Hate)Mail in the reportage.

But the problem with the term 'Mistress' is that it also has either  illicit or dominatrix associations   rubschin:

The abbreviated title of this thread on the VP 'come inside' page is: "Euro chiefs ban tit" .  eeek:

I am pleased to see it is just about titles for the fair sex.

Do the French have to ban Mme, Mlle etc as well?
I mostly despair

Apparently yes DS ~ all gender references are to be removed  ::)

The fecking world is going to hell in a handcart and the EU decide that calling someone Fanny is better than calling her Mrs Blank
