My work laptop keeps  doing the blue screen thing with the physical memory dump  and I need to restart.

Will do Uncle M  - my only predicament is I need to do quite a bit of work before Monday and I can't use my home PC for that as it's not compatible.

But it has literally crashed every 10 minutes or so this evening - Maybe if it has a good nights sleep it will be better in the morning  noooo:

Every ten minutes isn't good. You could try system restore from a earlier point.

Start -> My Computer ->  Control Panel -> Performance and Maintenance -> System Restore

I can't do that Uncle M as it is a work laptop I am locked out of any administration rights  ::)

Thanks for the advice though - will see how it goes tomorrow.

Only use system restore as a a last resort, ie if you are totally desperate and nigh on suicidal.

Tis better to boot from recovery cd (high hopes of that being available) and recovering from there.
