On the subject of what to wear on holiday ~ the Cousin mentioned elsewhere is Mancunian. On a visit to us last year the THW admired the "mules" said cousin was wearing (I should add that cousin is older than me by 10 months). Mancunian Cousin replied to the compliment thus: "Eeeee, these are me second best evening holiday flip flops" and looked puzzled when we all fell about laughing. How the f*ck she manages to persuade any airline that she really needs two pairs of "evening flip flops" as well as the day wear ones plus several other pairs of shoes "just in case like", together with at least three changes of clothes for each day (Morning, afternoon and evening) we couldn't work out until I had a word with her long suffering husband who admitted under interogation (water-boarding was not needed) that he takes two drip dry shirts, a change of underwear and a "crease resistant" linen suit that he wears to travel in. Shirt and undies are washed every night in the hotal bathroom. Every other bit of their allowance is used by "Madam". In other words his luggage is either on his back or in a Sainsbury carrier bag.
