Words that you hate and why
« on: April 21, 2009, 07:19:10 PM »
There are certain words that affect us all differently and for whatever reason you find these offensive to the ear .

For example I was just listening to some plank describing something and he used the phrase the juxtaposition of this and that blah blah blah.....

I detest the word juxtaposition....it always feel to me that someone is trying too hard to appear intellectual and use big words just for the sake of it.

Any similar dislikes ?

Quantative easing.... Explode:

This is a new one for me and may be it's not actually quantative easing that makes my blood boil, rather Gordon Brown.... He hasn't been uttering it much of late though.

"Discharge" is a horrible word.

Whereas "moist" is a lovely word.

"Discharge" is a horrible word.

Depends if it relates to the body or firearms surely?

"Look You" and "Isn't it" tend to grate on my ear of late.
I used to have a handle on life but it broke.

I was in hospital recently and came across a 'discharge lounge' I didn't venture in and have been having nightmares for weeks... scared2:
