Latest Update Tuesday 5th May 11.15 a.m.PLEASE NOTE:We will be using this web site to update parents and pupils on the situation and to give details of re-arranged exams (see below), how pupils can receive work to study at home this week and about any school events which we are trying to re-schedule. As the School community will be aware, we were informed yesterday, Monday 4th May, that 6 pupils had been tested and confirmed as having influenza A type H1N1. We acted immediately working to instructions from the Health Protection Agency (HPA), in consultation with the Director of Public Health in Southwark, to close the School up to and including Sunday 10th May, cancelling all associated events (the Year 7 Parents' Evening scheduled for this evening has been cancelled). We have been told by the HPA to plan for business as usual next week after this 7 day closure. Our priority yesterday was to arrange for all parents to be given a one-to-one medical consultation with an HPA medical practitioner (a team of GPs and nurses) and then purely as a precaution to be offered, with medical advice, preventative antiviral medication (Tamiflu) for pupils at the School. Similarly, we have offered such medication to all employees. Yesterday evening more than 90% of Senior School parents collected the medication being offered by the HPA. The remaining Senior School parents and the Junior School parents are being invited in this afternoon (timings given below) to receive medical advice and to be offered Tamiflu for their children.
Overreaction as usual I'm still alive
