Blank Holiday Weekend
« on: May 02, 2009, 05:52:44 PM »
This one's kicked off to flying start... NOT!  Banghead

The plan was, there's always a plan, to spend Saturday with some friends in Sussex and enjoy the fresh air, sunshine et alia. An hour and a half crawling through the sarf London sprawl put paid to that. Sitting in traffic just past Ikea and I sense something's wrong... the temperature gauge has hit the max and there's steam escaping from the bonnet  eeek:
Pull over to the side - open bonnet -  noooo: I don't attempt to open the water expansion tank, but being next to a Sainsbury's nip over and buy 5L of cheapo water while the engine cools down...
Back to the car and open the tank... it only needs a little...  rubschin: What's going on? Must be fan failure. Phone friends to say things appear to have gone tits up and decide to limp back home remembering the old trick of turning the car heater fan on full blast with the temperature up to red hot... it works, drawing the heat off the engine.

The traffic is crawling in both directions... Croydon, Norbury, Streatham, Brixton... windows and sunroof open and I'm fecking roasting with the full blast of heat coming from the fan  sad24:   If it's directed into the footwell it burns me feet! If directed up to the windscreen it's like being in a sauna! Still, the engine temp stays down  ::)
Home, call out the RAC, nearly a two hour wait but what else to do... engine fan fuse blown, no spare but he rigs up a makeshift one... the fan works... good man!

Day One down, two to go... things can only get better, can't they?  confused:

Poor you  happy100

The positives

Your skin will be vibrantly clean and fresh

The negatives

You will be quarantined  by the Medical Mafia tomorrow as the CCTV cameras will have picked up the suspicious activities of a gentleman sweating profusely and exhibiting signs of irritability and a extraordinary high temperature  eeek:

Hope tomorrow is better   rubschin:
